Job Overview for Cafeteria Manager
A Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the cafeteria. This
involves a wide range of tasks, including supervising staff, managing inventory, and
ensuring students receive a quality breakfast and lunch in a timely manner. The role
requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a thorough
understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations. Cafeteria Managers must also
be adept at adhering to the menu provided by the Child Nutrition Director in order to
help with cost control to ensure the financial health of the department.
Cafeteria Manager Qualifications & Skills
 High school diploma or equivalent
 Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferred
 Manager Certification through Mississippi State Department Office of Child Nutrition, preferred
 Ability to pass a Math Test required by the State Department
 Willingness to attend managerial training provided by the State Department, if not already certified
 Serv Safe Certified or ability to get certified
 Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service, preferred
 Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate food safety and sanitation standards
 Familiarity with cafeteria management software, preferred
 Basic computer skills
 Ability to stand for long periods of time
 Ability to lift heavy items
 Ability to work well with others
 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
 Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
 Strong communication and customer service skills
 Ability to work well under pressure
 Ability to follow directions

POSITION: Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: Current Commercial Driver’s License Class B with P and S Endorsements, along with Air Brake Certification.
